Hiring Process

Join our team at the City of Golden! Our hiring process is designed to find the best candidates and may include application review, performance tests, written exams, and/or interviews.
Initial Application
Jobs may be listed with a closing date or as continuous. If there is a closing date you must submit your application and all supplemental attachments by that date. If it is listed as open until filled, the hiring manager may review applications and contact candidates at any time.
What to Expect Next
Once your application has been received, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Processing time may take 1 to 3 weeks for positions that are listed as open until filled. For positions with a closing date, the process typically takes 1 to 2 weeks after the closing date.

Candidates who are selected to move forward in the process will receive communication by phone or e-mail, so please make sure you are checking the email address you provided.
Background checks
All applicants must be willing to submit to a background investigation and reference checks. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation. Certain positions require a drug screen, which includes marijuana.
