Named a “Bicycle Friendly Community” by the League of American Cyclists and given the silver award for our efforts to improve infrastructure for bicyclists, Golden is a great place to ride a bike!

Golden has historically been part of multiple world-class bicycle races, including the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, the Coors Classic, and was even the setting for Kevin Costner’s classic cycling film, “American Flyers”.

In addition to world-class road biking, Golden is also renowned for primo mountain biking trails that wind through nearby open space. Golden features many miles of dedicated bike lanes and shared-use trails throughout the town, making this a great community for 2-wheeled commuters as well.

Golden hosts fun bike-related activities throughout the year, including events to promote bicycle safety and education for little ones and older riders alike. Check out VisitGolden for biking opportunities around Golden.
